With just a few hours left in 2009, and many of you already making travel plans for the new year, we have come up with the top 10 locations you should be checking out in 2010. From deeply discounted destinations to newly emerging global hot spots, we got you covered.

Las Vegas, Nevada
Las Vegas is more affordable than ever before for travelers

Sin City tourism is suffering and that means you can expect to spend less on your hotel when booking a trip to Las Vegas. With a surplus of rooms available and no one biting, casinos are desperate for customers. We have seen deals to 4- and 5-star resorts for under $99 a night! That is definitely a gamble worth taking!

London, England

Catch a ride on the London Eye

The largest city in the United Kingdom and England, London is easily one of the most popular destinations to visit worldwide. It is noisy, loud and multicultural - which is why we love it! Situated along the River Thames, London is known for its abundance of funky pubs, stylish boutique hotels and never ending chic shopping. So whether your idea of a good time is snapping a romantic picture by the Tower Bridge or downing a few strong cocktails until the wee hours of the morning at a nightclub, 21st century London has it all.

  Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Home of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, this super clean Canadian city offers so much for travelers and locals alike.  Outdoor travelers will love the many great parks and bike trails the city offers, while the less athletic visitors can dine at one of Vancouver's award winning restaurants and enjoy a cocktail at one of the many cool bars or clubs.

South Africa
Breathtaking Cape Town, South Africa

The entire southern tip of Africa (and the world) will be soccer crazy this coming summer. From June 11-July 11, 2010, the World Cup will take place all over the country of South Africa. Cities like Cape Town and Johannesburg are amazing places to book a flight and see some of the best athletes in the world play for the honor to be crowned champions.

Hawaii
A romantic Waikiki sunset
Who doesn't want to visit Hawaii? Such cities as Kona, Maui and Honolulu are a traveler's paradise. From year round tropical weather and pristine beaches to top notch dining and resort options, there is so much to see and do in The Aloha State. Plus with tourism down as much as 50% in some parts of Hawaii, the locals could use your tourist dollars.

Galway, Ireland

About 130 miles west of the Emerland Isle's most visited city of Dublin, a hip and lively city called Galway is emerging as a new European hot spot. Walk down the cobblestone streets and grab a pint or two of Guinness at one of the many brightly colored pubs with live music blaring from them. Although the city is known as one of the rainiest in all of Ireland, Galway is without a doubt a ray of light among European cities.

Lisbon, Portugal

Overlooking the Rio Tejo and spread out atop hilly terrain is the breathtaking city of Lisbon. Easily Portugal's most popular destination, this city offers everything you love about Europe, but with less frills and expenses. Wander about the backstreets of Lisbon to enjoy the true local feel and check out must visit attractions like historic museums, Gothic cathedrals, magnificent monasteries.

Krakow, Poland

Still one of the most afforable European destinations for U.S. travelers (every 1US=2.90PL), Krakow has been dubbed by many as the "new Prague" due to its great nightlife, top restaurants and chic hotels. Rumor has it that Poland may convert over to the Euro by as soon as 2011, so hurry and book a flight to Krakow now and live like a king on a peasant's budget. Must see attractions include Rynek Glowny (the largest medieval square in the world) and the Wieliczka Salt Mine.

New Orleans, Louisiana

Although "The Big Easy" has mostly recovered from 2005's Hurricane Katrina, there is still so much work to be done for locals. One way to help NOLA out is to visit and spend lots of tourist dollars at the city's many delicious Spanish, Caribbean and French restaurants, chic hotels and wild clubs. Don't be surprised if you encounter an impromptu corner concert by a blues musician or two while meandering through the French Quarter. This is just how they do it down south.

Mexico
Sunset over a beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

News of violent drug wars and the emergence of H1N1 pretty much killed Mexico tourism in 2009. Resorts and hotels, desperate to sell their vacant rooms, started offering upwards of 50% off their original rates and used marketing ideas like free future stays if you got sick with the flu while visiting. Mexico is still pretty inexpensive and very easy to visit from the United States. The reported gang violence is nowhere near touristy cities of Cancun, Acapulco and Mexico City. What's more, you have very little chance of coming down with swine flu when visiting.
