Upcoming Events in Las Vegas

Welcome! We've Got You Covered All February!

Spring break is coming … soon! But, before Las Vegas opens its pools, offers up its specials and flies partiers in by the droves thanks to the flights to Las Vegas always being affordable, the town has to power through February.

Sure, there’s Valentine’s Day specials all over the city, but for those readers who aren’t coming here to celebrate their love, there are plenty of other fun activities in the shortest month of the year to enjoy.

Eat

Food Truck Fest at South Point. This isn’t the normal Las Vegas food truck experience. It’s far from it. On Feb. 1 from 5 – 9 p.m., South Point is turning its parking lot into a food truck lot and movie theater for “Dinner and a Movie.” Yes, both together. Visitors can stroll the aisles, and try 20 gourmet food truck-offerings not just from the popular truck of Las Vegas, but also from nearby California and even Colorado. Then, while dining, there’s a screening of John Wayne’s “The Searchers” to watch. It may be chilly, but organizers have guest covered – there will be a coffee and hot chocolate liqueur bar, too.

Restaurant Week. This popular foodie event, Restaurant Week, isn’t just about eating places with special pre-fixe menus, but also giving back to the community. Now with spring dates, Restaurant Week menus will be available at many Strip (and neighborhood) restaurants from Feb. 27 – March 4.  A portion of each meal sold goes back to Three Square, Southern Nevada’s only food bank.

Drink

The Mob Bar. Newly opened in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, The Mob Bar echoes the old 1920s speak easy world, complete with authentic glassware, uniforms, food and music. Gangsters not included.

Shoot

Machine Gun Vegas, The Firearms Experience Las Vegas. The first-of-its-kind gun range/ultra lounge opens its doors in February. This hybrid indoor shooting range features 16 lanes of gun-shooting-goodness, complete with a huge roster of heavy artillery. Then, there’s the ultra lounge experience. While no booze is served, the “Gun Lounge” offers an intimate avenue for high profile guests including two private firing lanes, a waiting lounge with plasma TVs, complimentary refreshments and a separate entrance.

Entertain

Chuck Jones Experience. It may have opened in January, but the Chuck Jones Experience at Circus Circus is a new exhibit highlighting the life and times of Warner Brothers’ famed animator Chuck Jones. The space is more than 10,000-square feet of animation awesomeness, including housing the largest collection of Jones’ original works (a hefty 250 pieces are on display here).

Laugh

Jay Mohr at The Improv Club. Popular comedian Jay Mohr is set to take the stage at The Improve Club inside Harrah’s Vegas Feb. 10 – 12. Named one of the greatest stand-up comedians of all-time by Comedy Central, Mohr’s show is $45 and $55 (VIP tickets).
