This week, aspiring London fashionista Georgia Somary submits this ethereal shot taken in Maui, Hawaii.

“The photo was taken on the volcanic slopes of Maui. We were driving up and the lunar landscape was so eerie. It was an amazing trip, despite the often unbearable humidity.”

Georgia, who traveled the US last summer, visiting California and the Utah Valley, uses photography as a way of influencing her work. She’s used to catching flights to Europe with Florence and Zurich cited as her favorite destinations.

We loved this photo because it captures a less clichéd side of Maui and makes us want to book cheap flights to Hawaii right now.

“For me the highlight was an accidental visit to a hippie commune, which we had stumbled upon when lost. I distinctly remember the girl who welcomed us with strips of sugar cane and a toothless smile. I love the US and I can’t wait for next summer, but I'll need someone to look after my cat!"
