Compañía Mexicana de Aviación, commonly known as Mexicana, is thinking of cutting half their staff in an attempt to start flying again in December.

It was only last month that Mexicana ceased operations and filed for bankruptcy protection in both Mexico and the United States.

But in an attempt to make a comeback, the Mexico City based airline is toying around with the idea of eliminating 3,900 jobs and more than half of their planes.

Mexicana would fly just 30 aircraft on 23 routes, with six being domestic and 17 international. A majority of the flights would travel to and from the U.S. and Canada.

As part of the new restructuring and downsizing, Mexicana would discontinue subsidiaries MexicanaLink and MexicanaClick.
