Guide to Dancing in Boston

Dance the Night Away!

Let your hair down, let the music play and get ready to dance! Bostonians are known for their sophisticated culinary seafood cuisine and distinct Americana beer a'la Samuel Adams. Maybe it is all that cold Northeastern air that make locals want to get up and dance! Don't be worried that Boston is a pub scene; there are plenty of specialized venues for all kinds of twinkle toes booking a flight to Boston and visiting.

Liquor Store: Liquor Store is a lot more than a place that serves up liquor; it is the ultimate dancing spot for those who aren't shy. It is one of those places you have to experience at least once in your life. Catered to the younger college-aged crowd, this is where you go to get kicked out when it’s closed, because the music is pumping hard all night long.

Gypsy Bar: A bar with a sexy name brings a sexy vibe and of course, sexy people. Gypsy Bar is an eclectic Theatre District nightclub where upscale people want to unwind. Known for its difficult guest list and long lines, once you're in, you've made it. (In Boston at least) Music styles range from deep house to Latin grooves. Famous guests include The Pussycat Dolls, Heidi Klum and Tommy Lee. Tip: Check out their awesome jellyfish aquarium at the bar!

Ryles Jazz Club: Jazz music doesn't have to be that type of music you sit around and drink dry martinis to. (Unless that is how you enjoy it!) Sultry sounds of the sax are sometimes meant to make people dance and swing their hips. Ryles Jazz Club in Cambridge features two areas, one with smooth jazz and the other with lively sounds of the 20's. Feel the night transform to the Prohibition times when Swing, Ballroom and Latin Jazz ruled the nights. The venue even caters to dance lessons during the weekdays and live bands on weekends.

Royale: One look at this venue and you'll think it was the Metropolitan Opera House. Actually, it is dated as a 1918 former opera hall! You'll feel like royalty when you enter the dazzling rooms and feel the flash of photographers snapping your picture. You can only hope it will be uploaded on the site for all your friends to see. The venue attracts well known DJs from all around the world so be prepared to dance till you take off your shoes!

Mojitos: Mojitos lounge is just as delicious as its name sake drink. This refreshing place is just as vibrant as its clientele; people who want to seriously dance. With exposed rustic brick wall, you feel like you are instantly in an underground club in Latin America. Those who are familiar with Latin music legends will appreciate the murals of famous artists such as Celia Cruz and Tito Puente. But the real show happens on the dance floor where rhythmic beats pair up with Spanish dancing, like salsa and merengue.
