Milan's World Famous Duomo Cathedral

Italy’s second largest city and fashion capital has opened the doors to its much-adored 2012 wardrobes.

Whether you’re catching annual flights to Milan on business or as a visitor, Italy’s fashion capital will be extra excitable this week. All the big names such in both Italian and transatlantic couture have unveiled their Fall/Winter collections. 

Dolce&Gabbana, Calvin Klein, Prada, Versace and Salvatore Ferragamo have all showcased very different ranges. Over-sized clothing, leather, monochromes, animal textures and earthy browns have dominated Italy’s menswear ranges this year.

But whether you’re interested in fashion or not, you’ll be sure to find something of interest in much-loved Milano this year.

Even a dedicated week of sight-seeing won’t have you visit the city’s many monuments, galleries, piazzas and restaurants. Start your trip off with the more predictable landmarks: the Milan Cathedral (known as the ‘Duomo,' it is the fourth largest cathedral in the world), the Naviglio Grande canal, the Royal Palace and of course, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II where you’ll find designer boutiques and excellent food.
