Three months to construct an amusement park might sound crazy, but that is exactly was it going on right now at Brooklyn's Coney Island. On the grounds where the former Astroland once stood, the all-new Luna Park is set debut on Memorial Day with 19 rides that are sure to please thrill seekers.

So how do you get an amusement park up and running in such a short amount of time? The president of Central Amusement International and Zamperia USA Valerio Ferrari explained, "We're working three shifts, around the clock, 24/7."

Some of the new rides that people will get to enjoy during the summer months include a spinning roller coaster called the Tickler, a log flume, a giant swinging pendulum and the Beach Shack, which is a surfboard ride complete with simulated waves and winds.

If the name Luna Park sounds familiar, it is because from 1903 to 1944 there was a Luna Park in Coney Island. The new park, which has plans to add even more rides in 2011 and eventually hotels, is expected to procude more than 150 jobs this summer and more than 300 when it is complete next year.
