BP Oil Spill makes it way to Florida coastline

The disaster that is the BP oil spill continues to wreak havoc on the Gulf Coast as the oil creeps toward the Florida Panhandle Friday.

It is being reported that brown tar balls are already washing ashore the white sandy beaches of the Sunshine State as cleanup teams have arrived to handle the impending mess that will be caused by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

Samples from the water with the tar balls will be taken to a lab and analyzed to see if it was in fact remnants from the BP mess that has been swimming in the Gulf Coast since April.

Thursday afternoon officials in Florida spotted an oil slick about 3.5 miles off the Pensacola coast. What's more, clumps of oil were found by Pensacola Beach. More oil is expected to reach the Florida Panhandle by Saturday.

Southwest winds have pushed the oil away from Louisiana's coast toward neighboring states of Alabama, Florida and Mississippi. With BP stating that they will not be able to completely fix the problem until at least August, many experts predict the oil could find its way up the east coast during the summer months.
