A multi-billion dollar project aimed at making Abu Dhabi a global center of cultural tourism is back on, according to a report from the New York Times.

After waffling back-and-forth on a project that would bring branches of the Guggenheim and Louvre museums to an island off the coast of the city, the executive council of Abu Dhabi officially green-lighted the project again this week.

At this point, details seem very hard to come by. The council made the announcement only through a brief statement on its website without indicating any budget restraints or target dates.

The Guggenheim branch is to be constructed by world-famous architect Frank Gehry.
